As California’s leading Minority Owned and Operated media company, Meruelo Media launches the first-of-its-kind "!Tu Voz, Tu Voto, Tu Vida!" (Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Life!) campaign, a robust initiative crafted to amplify Latino voter participation across Southern California, particularly in communities that often go unheard.

In collaboration with California Latino Leaders, our campaign utilizes an innovative cross-media and multi-language platform. This isn't just about politics – it's a call to action, echoing the importance of each vote and voice in our community. We’re leveraging our expansive Southern California cluster of TV and Radio stations, top-tier Digital platforms, Studios, and influential Community Events. And, adding to our voice, a star-studded lineup of celebrities and on-air personalities, all united in this mission.

Alex Meruelo, the visionary behind Meruelo Group, believes in harnessing the potential of our harder-to-reach Latino communities. With the support of our Latino elected and community leaders, we aim to bring relatable conversations to the fore, ensuring our community not only understands their voting power but embraces it fully.

The Importance of the Latino Vote

Every vote tells a story. For the Latino community, it’s a narrative of resilience, dreams, and boundless potential. But did you know that during the 2020 general election, Latinos had the lowest registration rate of all racial and ethnic groups, both nationally and in California?

At the national level, while our Latino community saw a 61.1% registration rate, this was over 10 percentage points below the overall average. But there's a silver lining. Once registered, an impressive 88% of Latino voters made their voices heard, showcasing our community's passion and commitment.

In the Golden State, the story echoes similarly. Only a tad above 60% of eligible Latino Californians registered, a figure below the overall state's average of 69.4%. Yet, once on the rolls, nearly 91% made it to the ballot boxes. A striking testament to our community's power and potential.

However, there's a pressing concern: Latinos were the only group to witness a decrease in representation from eligibility to the ballot box, sliding from 32% of eligible voters to 27% of actual voters. This means, more than ever, we need to bridge this gap. We have the power, the potential, and the numbers.
